So we are finally making the move. We've been living amongst a maze of boxes, eating off paper plates, with plastic forks... I'm looking forward to setting my dining table with my own dishes, real forks, and glass tumblers. Relaxing in my living room, with coffee and tea served up in my favorite mugs.
We are moving farther out in the country. It is beautiful. The night sky is lit up by the moon, and the only noise is the sound of nature. I love looking out the front door and seeing the cows grazing in the fields. For now, I love hearing the rooster... but I imagine he'll be a bit annoying as the sun rises earlier during the summer months.
Did I mention I won't have internet service? Yeah. I was shocked to learn there isn't DSL available. I understand we can sign up for dial-up but my first reaction was no way! I didn't even know dial-up was available. I can only imagine our frustration with slow internet... I don't think we'll go there. I'm going to miss daily contact with my kids. We relied on the internet for webcam visits with the babies and cell phones for daily conversations. No cell phone service and no webcam... I'm going to miss my kids even more than I do now. I think this is the first time since 1994 we have been without the internet. I guess I'll have lots of time for being a homemaker.
I'm looking forward to settling into my new home. I heard the average family takes six months to unpack and get totally settled in after a big move. Oh goodness... I'm hoping we aren't an average family. I guess, since there isn't going to be television or internet, we just might be able to get unpacked faster than usual.
Our phone number is the same. My cell # is the same, but I don't have service for about five miles from my house. My email is the same. Feel free to keep in contact!
I'm logging off now...

Wow! It actually sounds refreshing to me. Of course I don't have any grandbabies yet and that would probably make a big difference. I hope it is peaceful and perfect!
OH wow that is so awesome! Moving is so hard, but the rewards are amazing. The concept of starting completely anew and weeding things out that you have kept for so many years, unneccessarily, is so healing for me. Just so ya know, not that I am saying you should, but we have satelite internet. It is spendy though...like $100.00 a month. We dont get dsl out here either, and dial up just wouldnt be worth it. Satelite is faster than dial up by a long shot. On the other hand I think no internet and no tv is good for the soul, so enjoy it all, but I hope to see some pics on here soon of your new house. I would love to come up and to have a cup of coffee from one of your cups..btw...hehehe
OH No!!! How will I keep up with you?
I know all about me.LOL enjoy your new house. It sounds wonderfull.
Wow! I could live without TV and internet, that's for sure! Of course, when they're around, they're nice to have. Well - I stopped watching TV, but the internet is such a nice way to stay in touch. But I am sure I could quickly learn to live without it. Congratulations on moving! Try to get to a library or something and post every once in a while!
