Walking In Sunshine

Oh wow! The last few days we've been flooded in sunshine here on the hill. I love standing in the kitchen looking out across the valley on these cold mornings. The valley has been coated with a winter white coating of frost. With the sun shining on it, it just sparkles across the entire valley. It's so beautiful, I often think I'm so blessed to wake up to this!

Well, it has been a busy week. Let's see... the kids and Kevin  got home really late... Kevin and Taylor actually got home in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday.  Kevin had the day off, but Taylor had to get to school. He was turning in a scholarship application.

When he got home from school he was completely wiped out, so we drove him to his evening college class. To pass the time, Kevin and I headed out to the library. Oh what fun! I picked up some books about soapmaking and eco-friendly homemade cleaners.  Fun reading.

Kevin started his new job on Wednesday.   We are both still amazed and so thankful for the way it all worked out. Seriously! Who would have thought! I wrote about his new job in a post a couple days ago.  He has said this new company is completely different from his last employer. They aren't as up to date with the way they do the bids, and the office staff is pretty small, but he's happy.

Taylor has been applying for more scholarships. It really is like a full time job. When he gets the packets ready to turn in, they are huge. Packed with certificates and honors, letters of recommendations, school transcripts, cover letters, and essays. As I read through the packet, I'm thinking... I'd hire this kid on the spot! Or yeah! This kid deserves the scholarship.

Drew flew out to Oklahoma yesterday. Jenny's Grandpa passed away on Wednesday, and he wanted to go to be a comfort to her.  Well. I guess my boys are growing up.

Today was a play day for Taylor. The kids in FFA went to the Home and Garden show in Seattle. I can't believe it is the last year for the show. What a huge loss. Taylor said the garden show was great and the day was a lot of fun.

Oh yeah... and in other news. Brandon and his girlfriend will be flying home in a couple of weeks!

Well, that pretty much sums up my week. It's been a gorgeous week full of sunshine. Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow night, but I hope to be walking in sunshine in the morning!
