Homecoming Serpentine

This morning was cold, but sunny. Perfect fall weather... FOOTBALL weather!!!

It's homecoming in Snohomish!

I look forward to this day every year. I'm not the only one... dozens of parents, aunts, nieces, nephews,  and grandparents lined up along the streets. The homecoming serpentine is a tradition spanning more than 100 years and several generations of family... including my family. Funny thing this year... our kids school played Snohomish in tonight's  game.

The excitement builds as the band starts playing a marching cadence. Several minutes later the sirens blare... announcing the start of the homecoming serpentine.

Here are a few of the photos I took this year....

In 2008 Snohomish will split into two high schools... I wonder what will become of our serpentine.

Those are great pictures. It is a lot of fun to watch the parade. You will always be glad that you took the pictures when you look back and everything has changed so much.
