Long Week, Not Much Going On

Friday - last Friday lol I know! It's been awhile since I got on here to chat hasn't it? So Friday a week ago, the kids came over for dinner. It was fun sitting around visiting. I love sitting around our dining table with family and friends. Baby boy is getting so big! I really have to do way more baby proofing. I haven't had a baby around in so long, and I have things on low shelves that were just so tempting for him. They tell him no. He looks at them and then puckers up and pouts. Then he cries real tears. It's so adorable... but soooooo sad! I'm like, distract him with something else. Take him away from it, whatever 'it' is. I know he has to learn No. I get that. I had six babies. I really know... but it's just so sad. So, soooo adorably sad.

Saturday we managed to make it to Seattle in time to see the Blue Angels perform.  I get a thrill out of watching them. We weren't up close and personal this year as we have been in years past, but at least I got to see them!

We ended up in going to Frye's and didn't purchase a thing other than paper. Let me tell ya, Kevin was just simply thrilled we drove all that way for paper. *note the sarcasm* What can I say? T-man and I both love looking at computer stuff, but we can buy techie stuff online for less.

Sunday was dinner day at the church. We didn't have visitors, but we sure did enjoy sitting around visiting. Everyone must have been in the mood to really cook, because we had good food and a lot of desserts. Mmmmm yummy!

Monday I took T-man and my mom shopping. It's that time of year again... back to school. I know, school doesn't start for another month. But it seems like if you wait too long all the good gear is gone and we are left to buying backpacks that are just wrong, or way too expensive.

This shopping trip with T-man was a good one! We went to Big Five, Joe's, Staples, the mall, and of course we had lunch.  Usually he doesn't like anything. This time we ended up with way too much stuff. We bought the basics. Clothes, notebook, backpack, lead for his pencil, erasers, etc... you know, real basics. He has more to buy... but he'll go with the guys for the cool clothes. LOL You just don't take mom shopping at AE and such.

I love his backpack! It has tons of pockets, one for a notebook and one with padding for a 'notebook' and dozens of little pockets for everything else.

That about wraps up this past week. I've been home, sorting a few more things to give away. It seems like a never-ending process. My new rule... every time I bring an item into the house, at least one item has to leave the house. Okay. I've got to get back to sorting.

Back to school! We are back to school about every third month so it just isn't as big a deal:). I see kids getting their stuff though and can see that it is terribly important. Good for you to get it done early. Keep sorting and flinging.

Congratulations! So what about when your boys bring something in? Does another item still have to leave the house? Their item, or yours? I think if you have to get rid of items for every item you get, then you should have to get an item for every item you get rid of! LOL. Sounds like you've been busy. Still. I guess I'll just wait for your next post, now!

Gale, wow, you are nearly year round schooling. When I was homeschooling Andrea, Drew, and Taylor we kept to the public school schedule pretty much. It was easier for me, since I had 3 kids in public school.

Sabriena, hmmm... that would be ideal if we tossed something every time the boys brought something in. Hopefully theirs... so there's room for their new stuff. I really need to stick to my new rule but it's tough! lol

I love shopping for school supplies and clothes. Even though we homeschool the deals are too good to pass up, so we go on our yearly splurge too. I am looking forward to the extra motivation that it brings.
Tossing something everytime you bring something is a brilliant idea. Let us know how ya do.....

Trina, me too! I always bought the homeschool back to school stuff too. We really can't beat the deals this time of the year. And my homeschooling was often done 'off campus' LOL so to speak... so they had to have backpacks to carry their stuff to the aquarium, parks, to my Aunt's house... you know what I mean.

Right now I'm tossing waaaaay more than I'm bringing into the house, so we are in a win-win game right now. LOL
