Little Reminders

We've been working hard around the house this week. I'll have more on that later, but right now I just want to say I'm thankful for the huge tree branch that landed on the house.

You see, Kevin, Brandon, Drew, and I were sitting around our dining table, talking about our to-do list. T-man was out on the john-deere, working on his part of the to-do list. We could here the motor running as he was cutting the grass on the side of the hill. We were talking about the other things we have to get done before Monday evening. All of a sudden the motor stopped, there was a huge, crashing thud and our house shook.

My boys both yelled their baby brother's name and jumped from the table. One of the boys actually jumped over the table or T-man's chair or something. I just remember seeing a boy airborn headed in the direction of the door. In that moment, I realized the terror they were feeling. My heart just about stopped and we were all racing to get out the door and down the deck, to the end of the house. Not wanting to see... but needing to know.

It wasn't T-man. He was fine. He hadn't rolled the tractor. It was just a branch. A great huge branch (size of a small tree)... but just a branch. He had seen it falling and he shut down to go investigate, just as the thing hit our house.

I'm  so thankful that's all it was.

BTW... if you got the message this afternoon asking for prayers for T-man, yes he's doing fine. The asthma attack didn't go into full swing. It's been years since he had a full blown attack. It's been years since he had a little attack. I forgot how scarry it is. And if you received a prayer request for Brandon this late afternoon, he's doing fine too.

I'm just so thankful for my day. I'm thankful for the reminders of where we are, and who we have to look upon for help in times of need.

Wow! Sounds like God is really reminding you all of His power. So glad that everyone is good, asthma is terrifying. I could so picture someone airborne to go save their baby brother, love is so strong. I will be thankful with you for your blessings.

Thanks Gale! Terrifying is a good word to describe asthma. I woke up this morning with such a thankful heart, so much more so than I have been feeling.

Wow! I can see why you'd be thankful for the branch falling on your house! I would be, too! And I'd definitely be jumping up and running if I ever thought something might be happening to one (or more) of my little siblings!
