My very random thoughts are every where across the board this morning.
Monday night Aaron and my mom came over for dinner. I bbq'd beef ribs. My family of big boys devoured the ribs. I couldn’t believe how good they were, even though they weren’t done on the grill. I rubbed Johnny’s seasoning salt and onion powder into 4 racks of ribs. Then I layered them on the metal rack in the Nesco, and cooked them at 250 for about 5 hours. Then I brushed them with Bullseye, sweet and sticky BBQ sauce, and cooked them another 2 hours. It took 3 bottles of sauce to cover them. I turned the Nesco up to the highest heat for the last 10 minutes they were cooking… just as I was setting the table and getting everything else ready to serve. Â
It was fun sitting around the table visiting with the kids. We laughed and reminisced about the funny things the kids got themselves into when they were kids. Â
Stories of Brandon always keep us laughing. We were talking about how little our grandson is compared to our grandaughter. Chris and T-man were really big babies. Tall… and you know they always say if you double the baby boy’s height at 18 months (or is it 24 months?) that’s how tall he’ll be as an adult. (Is that an old wives tale?). It seems to have worked out for Aaron, Chris, and Andrea. T-man is almost to his predicted height, but he’s only 16 (I can still claim my baby is 16.... for a few more days). It definitely didn’t figure out for Brandon! He’s at least 8†taller than we figured when he was little.Â
We were all laughing about how Brandon would be barreling through the house and run right under the dining table when he was 3 years old. One day he came barreling through the house and as he was about to run under the table it knocked him right back on his little behind. He got up, shook his head where he’d just banged into the table, backed up and tried it again. Bam… knocked right onto his little behind again. He looked the situation over, then did it the third time! He wanted to cry. It must have hurt. But he stood up and surveyed the distance from the table to the floor. He'd ran under the table the day before. Surely this couldn't be right.  His Auntie Chuck or Uncle Ernie teased him about someone cutting the legs off the table. It was definitely one of those moments I’ll never forget. Â
Tuesday night Aaron slept on our sofa. Kevin dropped him off at the airport at 4:00am on Wednesday. By mid-morning he was in Sunny California with his family. The kids have sent several pictures of the little beach baby to my phone. He seems to be having fun in the sun! Â
Last night I went shopping with mom. We didn’t do the mall this time… No. We were grocery shopping at Walmart. I’m telling ya what, the rude people must hang out there. They were everywhere. There were groups of people shopping together and they’d all block the aisle with their carts. One time I was stuck in the middle of two different groups of people for what seemed like 5 minutes. How long does it take to chose shampoo? Seriously. No one would move aside, even when I said something. It’s just one more reason for me to not want to shop there. Â
Well, I’m off. I’m shopping again today. Mall shopping!  Actually, I’m going walking in the mall. I’ll call it shopping, even if I don’t have on my cute shoes.Â

I love your memories. I agree, it is amazing that the people around us can be so RUDE. Makes me even more determined to be the exact opposite! I'm not sure it could be called true mall shopping without your cute shoes:). I NEVER go mall shopping (boohoo).
Sounds like you had a lot of fun with your company. Reading about the meal made my mouth water! You must have a lot of patience to let it cook that long!!! Funny story about Brandon. Little kids' determination!
We might have run into each other taking our moms shopping at Walmart ;) Sounds like much fun at your table!
I'm happy you are enjoying your family, I just have a smile on my face reading this, I can almost hear your voice too. Love ya.
