Weekend Wrap-Up

Saturday was our date day. We left here before noon and headed out for a day on the town. We headed over to West Seattle to enjoy the low tide. The sea life in Elliot Bay is absolutely amazing. I didn't take any photos. I know, hard to believe! And there would have been some amazing shots of the huge pink starfish & sea cucumbers... they were huge!

We drove up Lake Washington Blvd and stopped in at Seward Park. It was a gorgeous day! The streets are lined with flowering trees in full bloom. It is really picture pretty.... and nope. I didn't take one photo here either.

We don't spend much time at Seward Park as a general rule, but it is worth checking out. Years ago there use to be a Dad 'n Me run at the park on Father's day weekend. We took our little kids and they ran in the race with their daddy then they had pictures taken with some of the Seattle athletes. It was a lot of fun! I wonder if there is a Dad & me run now. We haven't done it for years... maybe because they don't have the race anymore? Or could it be because we started going to Eastern Washington on Father's day weekend to be with family over there. There is a small-town festival that weekend and our family always signed up for the adult softball tournament. What fun times!

Oh yeah. I was talking about my weekend wasn't I? Okay so back to Saturday. We had dinner at HD Hotspurs. BBQ ribs! Yum! Then we headed farther south to do something we haven't ever done before. We went to a Casino for entertainment... Legends In Concert. What fun! I thought the entertainment was great. Garth Brooks (Dean Simmons), Barry White (Jourdan Carroll), Whitney Houston (Jazmine), Elvis (Ryan Pelton). Barry White came by our table and shook hands... he sounds awesome! Then Elvis came by our table and shook hands... oh wow... he is so adorable!

It was a late Saturday night. I really just wanted to sleep in on Sunday. But we got up and went to church. My aunt and uncle were visiting. We all went to a friends for BBQ burgers for dinner. She makes the best homemade hamburger buns! I love a good bbq, but this was outstanding! Homemade buns! Where does she find the time... and I'm going to have to ask for the recipe. Like I'm going to find the time to make homemade buns, but its worth it, I'm telling ya what! YUMMMY!!

We left our friends and met up with our kids at a baseball field for a little softball in the late afternoon sunshine. We were home just in time to put some laundry in to wash  then catch the beginning of the Amazing Race.

It was an awesome weekend!
