A Simple Woman’s Daybook
Outside my window... it rained a little bit last night, ending a near record dry streak for the greater Seattle area. They say it rained about 14 minutes at SeaTac. I don’t think it rained that long here at our house…. I need to go water my garden. I am thinking... about Chels moving out on here own. So far from home.
I am thankful... my family is working and things are going as well as things can go right now.
In the kitchen... Smoothies have been on the daily menu lately. My FIL bought us a Vita-Mix about 30 years ago and we use to make green smoothies all the time. Well at some point in time our eat-to-live plan went out the window and we have been on a live-to-eat plan for the past few years. A few weeks ago I was reading a blog about the green monster drink, and I thought… oh yeah. Those green drinks were pretty good. Spinach or kale in a smoothie sounds pretty yucky, but they are oh Soooo good!
I am creating... Pretty nails. It’s a girly thing. But hey. I am a girl. A grown up girl :)
I am going… to burn dinner if I’m not careful here as I’m writing this blog post.
I am wondering... if my family will be here for dinner tonight. I’m talking about the regulars who live under my roof. There is a going away party for Chels tonight, so I’m un-clear as to the plans anyone has for dinner. They may be eating leftovers for dinner tomorrow. And if I don’t pay attention, they will be eating burned leftovers for dinner tomorrow.
I am reading... The Hunger Games. I know. Backwards… we watched the movie and now I’m reading the book.
I am hoping... and praying my kids house sells soon, so they can move out here to Washington state real soon.
I am looking forward to... the day I can fit into my skinny jeans!!
I am learning.. patience as I look forward to Mitch and Andrea moving to Washington. However, it looks like I will probably fit into my skinny jeans before the kids get to move out here!
Around the house... I need to get out and weed the garden and throw some beauty bark on the flower beds. The gardens have been very neglected this summer.
A favorite quote for today...
“What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say”One of my favorite things... precious memories of days gone by.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
A few plans for the rest of the week… Well, I can make plans, and they seem to go by the wayside. We are living day to day around here lately. I want to go on a date with Mr. lilbitgabby one night this week. I would like to list a few things on ebay. Haha! I’ve been saying that for a couple months now. We’ll see how it goes.
A peek into my day... Up early, get mom settled in and comfy. Bundle up, grab my cup of coffee, and head out to the rocking chair on the deck and enjoy the wildlife. One day this week, I witnessed a really large bird swoop down and nab his dinner right out of my garden… poor little bunny rabbit. :( What a commotion it created amongst the wildlife! After sunrise, head back into the house and do whatever it is I do… today I was sorting through some of the photos I took on Saturday.
Oh, as it turns out, dinner didn’t burn too bad, but the guys are a no-show! I guess they all get leftovers for dinner tomorrow! And that my friends, is a peek into my day :)
