We Are So Blessed

A couple of posts back... I know. It was over a month ago. Anyway... I posted we are a statistic of 2009 when kevin was laid off of his job. Well, we have been very blessed! Kevin was hired!

We have been planning on moving closer to our children. I'm talking about the children living local - not the children living in the great mid west. Although, I'd love to move to the mid west... if it were God's will, that is where we would be. I know... tornadoes and all that. I shudder to think about the spiders and snakes and all those creepy crawlers. However, given the opportunity, I would go there to be near my children and grand babies. It's not part of God's plan.

So anyway! My mind is going a bazillion different directions this morning. Can ya tell?!

So our kids live in a very small town. What are the chances of a multi-million dollar company in the steel fabrication business being located in such a location? On Thursday, Kevin was at the college getting enrolled into classes. He already had his old college transcripts transferred and the funding from the state was in place. He was going to go back to school and get a degree in business management.

That's when our phone rang. The man on the other end had heard Kevin was laid off from his job, and he wanted to talk to Kevin. A few hours later... Kevin was hired!

We are so blessed!!!

We didn't have to dip into our savings during this short layoff. We did eat a lot of beans and rice. But hey... beans and rice is part of the Dave Ramsey program anyway.

Kevin, Taylor, and our three teenage grandchildren went to the Valentine's weekend in Southern California. Kevin and Taylor came home very encouraged by the visiting, the meetings they sat in, and the beautiful singing. I wish I had felt like going too, but I'm thankful the teenagers went and were around other teens in our church.
