Can it possibly be true... a natural spider repellent?
It's that time of the year when spiders are making their way into my house. I don't know about you, but I'm not willing to share my space with a spider. I shudder at the thought of a spider in my space. Let a real spider get into my space and all chaos breaks out. So you know I was thrilled to find out about a natural way to control spiders!
Here in the PNW the very poisonous hobo spider is a problem. The hobo spider generally hides in dark spaces, like attics and crawl spaces, but they also hide in small crevices. Small crevices.... like the handles of my Rubbermaid containers? Ohhhhhh JOY!
Upon further investigation, I discovered those huge... gigantic... house spiders I have in my house every once in awhile are actually a predator of the hobo spider. Say what!!? Oh the dilemma... do I keep the gigantic 8 legged creatures just so I don't have to worry so much about the real dangers... the hobo? What kind of a decision is that for me to make?
During the early fall months, the male spiders come into our homes in search of female spiders, so they can all make thousands of baby spiders. It's like a living nightmare.
I've always had a huge fear of spiders, it didn't matter if they were poisonous or not. They are just creepy. We've had several spider sightings in my home this past week, so I decided I need to know more about spiders in general. I found several informative websites with photos and more info than I ever really wanted to know about the different spiders.
