Well, my boys have been planning a road trip for several months. They planned the dates of the road trip so they could be in certain places for hay rides, water fights, and weddings.
Brandon put in for his vacation request back in January or February. Generally there isn't a problem with a vacation request. But just one week before he's scheduled to leave on a road trip, there was still no word on if he was even granted vacation time for the two week time frame he requested. In fact his immediate boss told him no. Good thing Brandon has a great relationship with the owner of the company.
Here's the problem, he has been working on a huge six figure $$$ project in Seattle. A project the company got just because of Brandon's ability to do the job. Well, due to circumstances beyond Brandon's control it didn't look like the project was going to be completed by the time he was suppose to leave for vacation.
Hubby and I encouraged him to pray about it.... don't up and quit. So, Brandon went into the office last Monday to talk to Dale, the owner of the company.  Brandon had every intention of quitting his job, if need be, just so he could make the road trip. Dale not only didn't let Brandon quit. When he comes back to work in a couple week he will be working for more $$ and he got a bonus before he left. Â
They were all packed and ready to leave on Thursday night... the night Uncle passed away. They had stopped by the house and held his hand for awhile, they said their good byes, and left with tears in their eyes.  They weren't gone for much more than an hour when Uncle passed. We called... they pulled over and took time to stop crying before continuing with their journey. They picked Billy up in Olympia and headed on down the road as scheduled.
They stopped in Grand Junction area to visit family. They stayed for the anual water fight in a Montrose. I'm so excited for them to be spending time with the young kids!
They called about 5:30 last night so say they were on the road again. And they called just before 6 this morning to let me know they made it to Andrea's house.
I'm glad we all encouraged them to go on. They said their good byes over the past couple weeks. Uncle knew they were leaving and he encouraged them to take strength and gain encouragement from those they meet.
Four boys on a journey... I pray for their safe return.

Every boy should have a trip like that to remember after they're all married and settled down. I'm sure they will have a lot of good clean fun. They will be with the cream of the crop everywhere. Sounds like the water fight was good and everyone had fun. Glad the boys said goodbye first, but still went on, there'll only be one time like this one, if they'd stayed it would have been different when they left.
Hello to you! I love you and here is a big hug to you.
I am glad the boys are traveling. I am happy Brandon stood his ground and is being blessed for it. This trip will never be forgotten, in their young lives, before adult stuff takes over. We are looking forward to them all coming tomorrow. It looks as though we will have the Swezey boys, Brad and Bodie. And a few girls too. Pillows will be short supply, but they are so very loved.
LOve YA!!!!!!!!
