Is it Friday? I am so lost on the days. Something to do with putting the funeral off for a week, another death, the fourth of July,  and the boys being gone... I lost a day a couple times then gained a day... or two. Lost - gained... it all depends on how ya look at things. lol
Uncle Phil and Aunt Betty will be here soon. We all had dinner together, then they took Aunt home. The funeral is tomorrow at the church, Uncle Phil is preaching the funeral along with Brother David.Â
I've been baking... of course I decide to roast a turkey on one of the hottest days of the year. Not only turkey, but desserts and other baked yummies. What was I thinking? Obviously I wasn't. Watermelon sounds like a good choice for dessert. Hmmm... why didn't I think of that earlier. It's a good thing it's cool at night. The windows are open so the house is cooling down.
My house is usually bustling with boys... tonight it is so quiet. I miss the bustle.

I'm sure the house seems terribly empty. Sounds like the boys are having fun though. It is always a relief when the funeral is over.
I bet you do miss the noise. I know I would too. The boys were so good to help with dishes and just everything. You raised them well. Thank you for letting them stay with us.
Gale, it's such an emotional time from the time of death through the funeral, it is a relief to have it all in the past.
Mrs. Martin, thank you! Those are beautiful words any mom would be so happy to hear. It's wonderful how you opened your home to the teenagers from the North West. I know it's a lot of extra work having so many teens stay at once.
