Gray Rainy Saturday in Seattle

We just got back from a whirl wind tour of Seattle. We took Mom with us today. It was a beautiful gray, rainy day in Seattle! The weather didn't deter the tourists at all. The streets were crowded and the city seemed to be full of bustle.

We started out with breakfast at the The Original Pancake House in Seattle. I love going there for breakfast. I don't love the long wait, but 20 minutes wasn't too bad. I know our waiter must have been a lilbit frustrated with us because we had a nice leisurely breakfast this morning.

When we left the pancake house we headed out to tour some of the building projects the guys are working on. I took a bunch of photos. I'll post the pictures on the photo blog.

It was funny at one point, we were driving out to Brandon's current project on Mercer Island and hubby was saying one of the houses they are working on was down the street. We get down the street and hubby pointed out the house he was talking about. House? It's over 20,000 square feet. I wouldn't call it a home. I mean, what does one do with that much space?!  My gosh, I thought the 10,000 sq ft houses Chris was working on was way too much to call a house.  Anyway, we get down there by the house and there is Brandon's project! Right next door! It's a small world in the construction industry.

After we left that project we stopped at Costco to pick up a few things. When we were walking out the door we picked up ice cream bars to eat on the way home. Ohmygoodness! Those things are huge! We could have easily shared one between the three of us. They make these huge bars of vanilla icecream, dip them into chocolate, and roll them into chopped almonds. YUM!

As if we haven't eaten enough today, we are making hot and sour soup for a late dinner. :)Â
