Oh I know I'm late in the day for the weekend wrap-up but it has totally been one of those days if ya know what I mean.
I already mentioned we stayed home on Friday.
Saturday morning we were up before dawn. Our youngest kiddo went to a track meet in Eastern Washington. He's on the throwing team. Saturday he PRd (broke his personal record). We are so proud of him! Not that his PR is getting him any attention outside of our family, but this is his first year and we are so proud of him!
My mom and dear hubby's dad dropped in to visit Saturday afternoon.  We have boxes and boxes of cookies in the freezer so we baked cookies and sat around visiting for a couple hours. The cookies were purchased as part of the track team fundraiser. Oh what was I thinking? They are too good to be in my freezer. It's dangerous! So goes the diet on Saturday.
Oh yeah, back to my mom and his dad. It's so funny *strange* seeing those two together. Okay they aren't 'together' but they go everywhere together. For years they fought the Hatfields & McCoys. They absolutely could not stand each other. He's a navy man... life long retired navy man. Maybe that gives you a clue to his strong personality. My mom has no excuse... love her to pieces! But she has a really strong personality too. The two together clash with a great force. Some years after my dad passed away my mom moved from her farm to an apartment in the same complex hubby's dad lives in. Since then they go shopping together and by afternoon they end up here sitting in our livingroom eating cookies and coffee.
Later in the day my cousin called me. She laughs at me when I go on and on about my grand babies but she's looking forward to being a grandma in August. Then I'll sit back and listen to her go on and on about her grand baby. We are talking about the need for a girls road trip. I soooo need a girls road trip! We are talking about going on a cruise... just a few of us girls, no guys tagging along. Sounds like a plan to me!
Saturday night we went to see the kids and play with our baby grandson. He's getting so big! He's still under 14 lbs, but he is just growing so much! He's outgrowing the newborn stage. . He smiles, giggles, coos, rolls over, and is grabbing onto things.  I absolutely melt when he grins at me as I walk in the door. Oh the joy of being recognized by the little one!
Sunday was quite the lazying around the house day. Is that a word? Lazying.... well, I'm guessing you know what I mean. I wrapped up the weekend with a phone call from our darling daughter and that is such a pleasant end to the weekend!
